I have followed the lead from two of my glorious classmates, Olivia and Laura, and started a blog in the attempts to capture the life changing experience I am about to embark on. SIX WEEK STUDY ABROAD TRIP TO LONDON! Excitement isn't the word i'm looking for....delighted? ecstatic? piqued? thrilled?! electrified?!?! I suppose they all work but you catch my drift.
This will be my third time visiting the UK. First, on a trip with my parents in the 7th grade, which I am ashamed to say I actually fell asleep in the tower of London. ASLEEP. I fell asleep where Anne Boleyn counted the days as she watched out of the window listening to her brother and father beheaded, knowing that she would be next. ASLEEP. Shameful, shameful, shameful. And the second trip to London was by myself for a week. I lived on cheese and crackers, saw Ice Age 2 by myself, got lost a few times, auditioned for a school which I found out recently has never accepted an American, lost my cell phone, stayed in a terrifying hostel where the shower had no doors (not even a courtesy curtain), saw Les Mis, and basically had a wonderful/scary time.
But this time. Ohhhhhh this time will be different from all the rest. I'm not in 7th grade any more and actually know how to appreciate art and history! I'm not alone and 18! I'm finally ready to experience London like I never have! I want to learn and live. I want to dance on the cobblestone streets, drink a dark ale, see a futbol game, listen to music, see art, ride in a two story bus! But most of all....Ohhhhhh most of all...I want to see Theater! I want to see so much theater I get sick and overwhelmed by the preciousness of it all!
